Make sure you get here early!
We recently visited the famous Aran Bakery in Dunkeld (Owned and ran by Flora Shedden fae Bake Off).
Their bread and cakes are famous across the land. The Aran Sourdough is sold in a few different spots in Dunkeld and Burnam, so if its sold out in store you might still have a chance to taste how great it is.
We arrived at around 13:00 on a Saturday and the pastries were already sold out, though I did manage to try a stem ginger cookie which was spicy and seasonal.
There are only a few seats inside the bakery but in Dunkeld you are surrounded by stunning views in all directions. We took our coffee down to the side of the cathedral, and set on a bench watching the river tay.

The americano was gentle, tasty and much appreciated on the chilly Autumn day.
Well worth the 1.5 hour trip from Glasgow to see it for yourself! I’ll be back earlier next time to try the croissants.
If you enjoyed this then please check out the rest of our blog where we review coffee shops, bakeries and cafes across Scotland. We are on the hunt to find the best Americano across the country…
