Discovering Mana: The Best Pain au Chocolat in Dundee

17/20

Seriously, the pain au chocolats are massive.

Mana is located in the heart of Dundee (just up from the V&A).

Inside it’s a really lovely set up, the highlight is a lovely window bench which lets you look out at Whitehall crescent, a busy street on-route to the station.

If you are too late to nab the window seat there is a large bench opposite the bar or,  if it’s sunny, there’s an outdoor bench and some 2-seater tables.

We visited on a chilly November morning and decided to sit outside, which gave us a great view of the RRS discovery ship & the Tay.

On to the order, I went for a pain au Chocolat and a black espresso (as usual) which was super tasty. The pastry was flakey and the chocolate very rich.

I also tried a bite of the almond croissant but it was a little bit too sweet for my taste and there was a lot of it to get through. In hindsight, we should have shared one pastry between us.

There is a run & cycling club which is a great way to get introduced to some locals and meet new people.

Worth checking out on your next trip to Dundee, especially if you can get the window seat.
