Oh fancy…

Have you ever been shocked by a cup of coffee? While visiting some family over christmas, I was treated to a cup of Fortnum & Masons Columbian coffee from Tolima and it blew me away. Here’s the story –

On Christmas morning, my brother brewed one of the biggest cafetieres i’ve ever seen – (enough for 10 cups). I was expecting a dark roasted, bitter tasting, punch to the face strength coffee but I was completely wrong.

I was greeted with a light and fruity taste which was followed by a lovely caramel after taste. My first words were “woah, that’s good coffee!”. My mum then explained it was a gift from her sister in London.

Now I don’t know much about Fortnum & Mason, apart from the luxury image and branding, but after this blind taste test I can say that the have sourced a really good cup of coffee

Here’s what the say about it –

Deep within the mountainous region of Tolima near the banks of the meandering El Ata river, in fertile Andean soil enriched by the nearby Nevado de Huila volcano, a small community of coffee growers produce this exceptional Arabica. The result is a delicious blend packed with rich notes of caramel and juicy citrus fruits.

You can pick up a 200g ground bag for £11.95, which is defo on the pricier side. I’d recommend trying this once, getting it as a gift for coffee lovers or add it to your 6 monthly shopping list.
