It’s time for our first Edinburgh roastery review…
Machina was founded by two coffee lovers back in 2013 and since then they have become a big name in the Edinburgh coffee shop scene.
They only work with a handful of high quality coffee suppliers so I was excited to try their Blueberry Candy beans –

We brewed ours using a Sage Espresso machine, a single shot with some added hot water.
The first thing I noticed was an almost earthy taste on the middle of my tongue and when comparing this to their tasting notes there might be a hint of raisin. I didn’t get too much fruit in this cup so I’d need to try this again using a V60
An interesting cup with a flavour I can’t quite put my finger on I’d rate this around the 12/20 mark. while this didn’t blow me away I’m keen to try some of their other roasts.

If you enjoyed this then please check out the rest of our blog where we review coffee shops, bakeries and cafes across Scotland. We are on the hunt to find the best Americano across the country…
